Service Hawk v2.2 Adds Additional Peace-of-Mind to Service Monitoring

WHITE PIGEON, MI, April 2, 2007 - Wingenuity, Inc. announces the release and immediate availability of version 2.2 of Service Hawk, a Windows Services monitoring application for Windows 2000/XP/2003, that helps businesses and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) thwart bugs and hacking attempts against their servers. Service Hawk vigilantly monitors Windows Services and other third-party services and automatically restarts them the moment they fail. Notification of service interruption is then sent through email, on-screen notification, or sound alert and logged to a log file.

Service Hawk is known for its ability to monitor and automatically restart Windows Services when they fail, but it now has the added benefit of being able to restart services even if they are supposedly still running. This added functionality ensures that services always run smoothly and stay operational. Often times, a service may state that it is running, but is actually in a “hung” or frozen state instead. Service Hawk’s new feature virtually eliminates this problem because the service will not have the opportunity to remain in a frozen state for long. In addition, many services could benefit from a periodic restart to refresh the memory every so often due to their memory intensive nature.

The new version gives users the option to determine the restart schedule according to a daily, weekly, or custom schedule that works best for them. The custom option allows the user to specify a restart schedule according to the day, hour, minute, or even second. For example, restarts can be scheduled every Saturday at 5:00 p.m., every day at 3:00 a.m., or every 30 minutes if the user desires.

This release also includes the ability of Service Hawk to run as a service itself. Now users can feel especially secure knowing that Service Hawk will continue to run and monitor services even if they log off of their computer.

By keeping services up and running and fully functional at all times, Service Hawk gives business owners peace-of-mind and assurance that valuable customers and money are not in jeopardy due to a service hang-up or failure.

Service Hawk v2.2 costs US $179.00 for a single-server license. Site licenses are also available.
